In safety

After a long and stressfull journey, Nadine and I are currently enjoying some bomb free Norwegian summer days. Having left Beirut almost two weeks ago, we can do no more than watch the news with the rest of the world and hope for a speedy solution to this horrendous crisis.

Despite not beeing in any immediate danger in Beirut, it was with heavy and sad hearts that we decided to leave for the sake of our unborn baby. Having to live with the guilt if anything went wrong and we knew we could have left, made the decission much easier for the both of us.

Perhaps the change of scenery will inspire a new burst of blog posts, but only maybe.... :)

It's a boy

And there it was, that unmistakable form of manhood. He was shy at first, but after some gentle persuasion he spread his legs and revealed that the little bundle of joy growing in Nadines' belly is a little boy. He was too big to fit on the monitor all at once, so it was a bit more difficult to understand what the different parts were, but the doctor was very patient and explained everything in detail.

There was a moment when he was moving his little hand in a kind of wave, and that moment right there was just pure magic!! It's not that I wanted a boy more than a girl, but now that we know, there are all those scenarios playing out in my head. It's also nice to be able to plan things better, the whole naming thing can be narrowed down a bit now, and although finding a boys name has been the most difficult part until now, I'm sure we'll find something fitting before the end of November...

Will try and post the pictures in the next couple of days.

Happy days

Life is good, simple as that!

Nadines belly is growing steadily, and the end of the fourth month is approaching rapidly. On Saturday we are going to visit the doctor again, and there's a possibility that we could know the sex of the baby then. Will probably post another ultrasound picture over the weekend, so make sure you come back for that :)

Not much else going on at the moment, it's another delightful Beirut summer with all that goes along with it. The ongoing FIFA World Cup is taking a lot of our spare time as expected, but because Norway didn't have time to play this year, the excitement isn't that high at the moment at least.

We have also started receiving some baby clothes, and as if the belly wasn't enough, this reminder that we are going to be parents soon is sometimes confusing... No matter how much we want a baby, and that we had planned to get one, the fact that it's too late to change our minds now can be a bit scary at times. Every time I see a baby now, I try to imagine what it will be like and I'm sometimes nervous about beeing responsible enough to take care of another persons life. I guess there is only one way to find out though, but it feels a bit like humping into the deep end on your first visit to the pool....

Becoming a father!

I'm going to be a dad! Not really news to either me or my closest friends since my wife Nadine has been pregnant for almost 3 months now, but this is the first time I share it with the world. We had been tryng to get a baby, so everything was nice and planned, but we were somewhat surprised with the fast results of our efforts. A good friend of mine had to endure endless lovemaking for 7 months, while we only had to suffer for 2... :)

I have so many thought and emotions going through my head at the moment, so I figured that it was about time that I started writing again, and it will also be a good opportunity to keep all my friends around the world updated, so that they at least have a choice to follow the process from time to time. I know it's impossible for people around me to be as excited as I am at the moment, so I thought that writing about stuff would give my friend a break from me talking their heads full of baby stuff and concentrate on the "important" things in life, namely football, golf, beer and love :)

So without furter adoo, I would like to present to the world, the future baby! This ultrasound was taken yesterday and shows a 7 cm 154 bpm wonder of life.

Monthly entry?

It seems that this has turned into some monthly thing now, it seems to be out of my hands anyways, my brain has taken total control of my body you see... Spring has arrived here in La La land, and I like it :) March, April and May are probably my three favourite months here, all that blood starting to circulate again. Have been without a computer for about two weeks now, I guess the prospect of yet another spring became too much for good old Tiny. He just went up in smoke, but no mirrors, so I had to get another one.

I know I have said this several times already, so I wont say it again. Somethin I'll talk about however is the fact that the new website for Cre8mania should be online either today or tomorrow, and this baby is something I'm very proud of :) if you would like to, check it out at htttp://www.cre8mania.com

Have a good day whoever reads this, I dont discriminate any of my guests you see :)

And on a final note, GRATULERE MED 26 AARS DAGEN ERIK!!!!! (my brother is 26 today)!!!!!!!!!!

Grey days with burst of sunshine

There's few things more depressing to me than a grey rainy day here in Beirut, add being constantly cold, and you have a recipe for disaster :) Thank god there's only a month or so left until the spring...

Everyday life is nothing but routine, and in the winter there is precious little to do here in the weekends as well. All in all things are good though, and the days of sunshine are exploited to the fullest with trips and activities. Played paintball yesterday, and it was loads of fun, even though the other team was a bunch of sissies!! :)

That's pretty much all that has happened in 2006, and that kind of sums it all up here I guess :) I have started editing some videos I shot since christmas, put due to a heavy work burden things are progressing slower than usual... What else is new :)

Anyways, good to be back in blog land and even though the blog won't be updated every day, it should have something new every other day or four :)

Still going strong

Despite the unrest in the middle east and especially yesterdays events here in Beirut, I am enjoying life to the fullest here in Lebanon. I have become more careful about my movements in unknown areas, but by and large my life is as normal as it has ever been. It is also nice to know that all my friends here are supportive and understanding of the situation that me and my fellow countrymen are in.

This might also have rejuvenated my desire to become more active as a blogger again, mostly to show people who might want to visit Lebanon or have loved ones here that there is little to fear from this beautiful land.

Anyone who reads norwegian can find an article about me here: http://www.siste.no/utenriks/krisen_i_midtoesten/article1939452.ece

Have a nice day!
